Destiny 2 Cross Play Beta Announced for May 25th to 27th

Players across all platforms will be able to match together in a unique Vanguard Strikes playlist.

When Season of the Splicer went live for Destiny 2, some players found that cross-platform play had been enabled. While Bungie fixed this in short order, it recently revealed plans to add cross play in Season 15. To help prepare fans for the same, it’s announced a cross play beta for May 25th to 27th.

Those on PlayStation, Xbox One, Stadia and Steam will be able to match together at last. However, while the beta will be open to all players, it’s restricted to a unique playlist for Vanguard Strikes. Furthermore, players can’t invite friends to join them or create a fireteam. Completing three strikes in this playlist bestows a unique emblem “Stars Crossed.”

Destiny 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Google Stadia so it should be interesting to see how this beta impacts the overall player pool. Season of the Splicer is slated to run till August 24th so it’s likely that Season 15 – and cross play – arrives in September. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
