For many end-game players in Bungie’s Destiny 2, the Exotic Trace Rifle Divinity has been the go-to weapon for debuffing enemies. Not only does it weaken them, allowing for 30 percent more damage dealt, but it also creates a large critical spot. As a result, dealing precision damage is super easy.
It also makes similar debuff solutions like Shadowshot and Tractor Cannon pointless. Before debates emerged in the community, Bungie had been testing “a variety of changes” over the past few months. In Season 19, which should go live on December 6th, Divinity’s weaken effect will go from 30 percent to 15 percent.
The developer also confirmed that 26 Exotics would see changes when the new season launches. The extent of changes varies, from Lord of Wolves receiving a “substantial rework” to a small “but impactful” change to Legend of Acrius. Don’t expect just buffs either – there are some nerfs as well, as the team kept a list of “under and overused Exotics” that it’s now tackling in Season 19.
Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. In the meantime, a mid-season balance pass is coming that will buff Auto Rifles, Trace Rifles, and Rocket Launchers while nerfing Jade Rabbit, No Time to Explain, and so on. Find out more here.
