Destiny 2 Seasonal Armor Won’t be Earned From Season Passes Going Forward

Armor will instead drop from seasonal activities.

With Season of the Splicer coming up in Destiny 2, Bungie is changing the way that seasonal armor is doled out. In This Week at Bungie, it revealed that armor would be earned from seasonal activities and not be included in the Seasonal Track. These ranks will be replaced with Glimmer, Upgrade Modules, Exotic Engrams, upgrade materials and Legendary Shards.

It’s possible to earn certain pieces by focusing Umbral Engrams. Given the Power level change this season (with players having 10 additional levels to grind instead of 40), the instant boost from receiving new armor won’t be needed. Seasonal armor is doled out at a fairly decent clip when playing the seasonal activities as well so the additional currencies will be more useful.

Bungie also confirmed that new Legendary items could be earned outside of Override, the main Season of the Splicer activity. There’s the Null Composure fusion rifle along with 12 additional Legendary weapons, four each for Gambit, Crucible and Vanguard Strikes. Three returning weapons, including Hung Jury SR-4 from Destiny 1, can be earned from Nightfall playlists with each being on a weekly rotation.

Going for a higher difficulty means higher drop chances and Grandmaster Nightfalls on June 22nd will provide Adept versions of each. Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer starts on May 11th and ends on August 24th. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
