The Switch is going to be getting its fair share of character action games in the near future, with the likes of Astral Chain and Bayonetta 3 both due out exclusively on the platform- but the big daddy of the genre, Devil May Cry, is something that all Switch owners would be craving for as well. Apparently, that also extends to people working on the upcoming Devil May Cry 5 as well.
Recently, while speaking with Express, Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker talked about wanting to see the series on Nintendo’s hybrid system, saying that though Capcom haven’t announced anything regarding that as of yet, ports for Devil May Cry games on the Switch are something he would personally like to see.
“We haven’t announced anything for Switch, right,” said Walker. “We personally would love to play a Devil May Cry game on Switch. I’m one of those guys that always, I want to play everything on Switch. I’m always asking for ports.”
“Either way, we haven’t announced anything for Switch, so let’s wait to see what happens,” he finished.
Devil May Cry 5 is unlikely to ever see a Switch release, but it’s entirely possible that Capcom ends up porting any of the previous four titles (or even the HD collection) to the platform. One can always hope, right? Who knows, maybe then we’ll get to see Dante in Super Smash Bros.
Devil May Cry 5 launches for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 8. Director Hideaki Itsuno recently spoke about wanting to keep Capcom’s recent resurgence going with the upcoming release, and if early indications are to believed, the game might end up doing just that.
