Devil May Cry Announced for Nintendo Switch

The very first title in the series is out this Summer on Nintendo's platform.

Capcom has announced that Devil May Cry will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch this Summer. No, not the Devil May Cry HD Collection, but the very first Devil May Cry. Check out the tweet below if you don’t believe us.

Devil May Cry launched in 2001 for the PlayStation 2 to critical and commercial acclaim. It was the debut adventure for Dante and Trish, while also introducing baddies like Mundus and Nelo Angelo (the latter turning out to be Dante’s twin brother Vergil). The title would be subsequently re-released as part of the Devil May Cry HD Collection on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012, before coming to PC, Xbox One, and PS4 in 2018.

It’s likely that the HD version from the recent collection is being ported over to the Switch. Otherwise, it should be interesting to see how Capcom is handling the process (and pricing). If Devil May Cry performs well enough, does that mean the other games could come to Switch? Time will certainly tell. In the meantime, you can check out the awesome Devil May Cry 5 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
