Blizzard Entertainment’s Diablo 4 is out next year though it caused a stir roughly two weeks ago when files for a beta build were added to the Battle.net launcher. Franchise GM Rod Fergusson later clarified that this was for internal testing purposes with more details for public testing coming down the line.
The first seems to line up with a tweet by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier where he noted that “a bunch of people” were playing an early build for the action RPG. This was part of a “friends-and-family alpha test.” Though the players are currently under non-disclosure agreements, Schreier had heard “mostly positive buzz.”
Diablo 4 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. It features a shared world with full cross-platform play and couch co-op support. Blizzard has revealed extensive footage for the Necromancer class (along with detailing its weapons and skills here) while also showcasing PvP and World Bosses. While release date for public tests is yet to be announced, sign-ups are currently available here.
