Microsoft is currently trying to get its proposed $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard approved, and if/when that does happen, all of the latter’s games will inevitably be added to the ever-growing Game Pass libary. If, however, you were hoping that some of Activision Blizzard’s biggest games – specifically, Diablo 4 – will launch for the subscription service before that, well, there’s bad news.
A recent leak indicated that Blizzard Entertainment’s action RPG was headed to Game Pass soon, courtesy of a leaked banner image spotted on Brazilliant payments app PICPAY. A thin enough source, but speculation mounted once the image emerged online. However, Blizzard has now quashed down those rumours.
Blizzard Entertainment Mike Ybarra recently to Twitter and, in a response about said leak, confirmed that Diablo 4 is, in fact, not headed to Game Pass, simply writing, “This is not happening.”
This isn’t the first time Blizzard has been quite cut-and-dry with denying any plans of a Game Pass launch, having done the same earlier this year prior to the game’s launch.
Diablo 4 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Its first season of post-launch content, Season of the Malignant, is set to go live on July 20. Blizzard is currently also working on two full-fledhed expansions.
