Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Releases on January 16th 2020 for Japan

Early purchases will receive an original sub-story among other bonuses.

Among the many titles receiving updates ahead of Tokyo Game Show 2019 is Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Developed by CyberConnect2, the action RPG is retelling of classic arcs like the Saiyan Saga, Namek Saga and Cell Saga. The publisher has announced that it will release on January 16th 2020 for PS4 and Xbox One in Japan. The Xbox One version will only be available digitally in the region.

Those who purchase the game early will receive a number of bonuses. Former Ginyu Force member Bonyu, who’s new to the series and created by Akira Toriyama, will be available to fight early in the training room. There’s also a sub-story “A Dangerous Party of Friends” that’s not been showcased in the original manga.

It essentially showcases the party that Goku’s friends hold when he returns from the planet Yardrat. Judging by the name, it’s not exactly the most tranquil gathering. Finally, there’s bento called “Happy Ultra Finest Quality Meat” that will increase your stats and provide an early advantage.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is slated to release next year in the West for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but doesn’t currently have a release date. Stay tuned for more details as Tokyo Game Show begins.
