Bandai Namco’s Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot may have Goku as its titular star but there will be other playable character involved. Last week, the publisher confirmed that Vegeta, Piccolo, and Gohan will also be playable. At the recent Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong 2019, Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong was present to showcase gameplay of Piccolo for the first time.
The footage sees Piccolo conversing with Tien and Chiaotzu before entering a sparring match with the latter. Tian and Chiaotzu won’t be playable but they will function as support characters like Yamcha and Krillin. Thus far, the game looks good and captures the series’ trademark art-style well.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be releasing in early 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It will cover events from the Saiyan Saga and Namek Saga but also feature backstories that were never showcased in the manga. There will also be all-new character interactions, which should surely help freshen up this latest adaptation. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.
