The blast of nostalgia that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot promises should please old and new fans of the series alike. It’s going to feature a lot of familiar, and possibly not so familiar, content. It seems that despite the name, it won’t just be the Goku show as Bandai Namco has confirmed that there will be more playable characters, and even those not playable will be in support roles.
On the official Bandai Namco Twitter account, it was confirmed that series regulars Vegeta, Piccolo and Gohan would be fully playable. Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu won’t be, but they will join in at some point as support characters. It’s not clear to what degree the playable characters will actually be featured, whether it’ll be full sections of the games when Goku is MIA, or more side stories that will stand alone. Alongside the announcement also comes some screenshots of the characters in game that you can see in the tweet.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will release sometime next year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For more information on the game, you can read our interview about it with the developers through here.
With the earth at stake, the Z Warriors stand to face the growing threats.
