Fable Has Made Former Control Writer its New Narrative Lead

Former Remedy Entertainment writer Anna Megill joined the Fable team as lead writer over a year ago, and has now been promoted to narrative lead.

It’s been a long, long time since the Fable reboot was announced, and in all the time since then, we’ve barely heard peep about it, much less get to see it in action. But though some have certainly been left frustrated by the lack of updates on the game, work on the RPG has been proceeding at pace at Playground Games. That, of course, means movement on its production staff as well.

For instance, the game has a new narrative lead- though not necessarily a new member of the team. Anna Megill – formerly of Remedy Entertainment – joined Playground Games as lead writer on Fable over year ago. Now, as her LinkedIn and Twitter profiles reveal, she’s been promoted to the position of narrative lead.

Megill certainly has the credentials that make it abundantly clear that she’s an asset to Playground’s team. At Remedy, she was the narrative lead on Control, while she’s also worked on Dishonored: Death of the Outsider at Arkane, The Division 2 at Massive Entertainment, and more besides at the likes of Square Enix and Ubisoft.

As for when Fable will be out or when we might see it next, that remains to be seen, though reports have previously claimed that it’ll launch sometime in 2023. Stay tuned for more updates.
