Fallout 76 Will Get New Content Developed by Rust Developer Double Eleven Later This Year

Double Eleven confirms it's working with Bethesda on "on a host of exciting new content" for Fallout 76 that will launch later this year.

Season 8 of Fallout 76 kicked off earlier this month, bringing plenty of new content for players to dive into, but as Bethesda has stressed on a number of occasions, the online RPG still has plenty of stuff in the pipeline. Some of that, interestingly, is being made in collaboration with another developer.

Double Eleven, the studio behind popular survival title Rust, recently announced on its website that it’s developing “new challenges” for Fallout 76. Double Eleven and Bethesda apparently starting discussing a collaboration in late 2020 and have been working together since then on new content for the game. What the nature of this content will be or exactly how meaty this chunk will be remains to be seen, but Double Eleven does say it’s working on “a host of exciting new content”, so there’s that.

“It’s a privilege to be trusted to work on one of the most iconic franchises in gaming history.” said Double Eleven CEO Lee Hutchinson. “The team we’ve assembled to work on Fallout 76 are so passionate about the series, working with Bethesda is a dream come true.”

Earlier this year, Bethesda briefly detailed roadmap for Fallout 76’s planned support for 2022- though it seems plans for things much further in the future in place as well. Apparently, its developers have a rough five-year roadmap internally laid out.
