Forza Horizon 6 Offers Native 4K/30 FPS and Dynamic 4K/60 FPS Modes on Xbox Series X

Xbox Series S players will have to be content with dynamic resolution on both modes, which offer 1440p/30 FPS and 1080p/60 FPS.

Alongside the news that Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold, Playground Games has shared details on the game’s graphical modes for Xbox Series X/S. Two options are available – Quality and Performance – and on Xbox Series X, you can expect the former to deliver native 4K at 30 frames per second with some “increased visual fidelity” to boot.

Performance Mode, understandably, won’t be as graphically sharp, but that’s because it’s prioritizing a “smooth” 60 frames per second. The targeted 4K resolution will scale accordingly to ensure this – now all we have to see is how far it can drop in some of the more visually busy scenes.

Xbox Series S players can expect Quality mode to deliver 1440p/30 FPS while Performance mode offers 1080p/60 FPS. The catch is that both modes have dynamic resolution scaling to match the promised frame rate.

Of course, for those who want the very most out of the open-world racer’s graphics, there’s always the PC version. You’ll need some serious hardware for the Extreme RT setting, which includes ray tracing, upscaled 4K and 60+ FPS. However, hitting native 4K with roughly the same performance on the highest quality preset is fairly reasonable.

Forza Horizon 6 arrives on May 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PC. The PS5 version is slated for later this year.
