Forza Motorsport Summer Launch Seemingly Teased by Microsoft

The racing sim is set to launch for Xbox Series X/S and PC sometime this year, but doesn't yet have a concrete launch date.

When Microsoft showed off Forza Motorsport at the Xbox Games Showcase in June last year, it said the racing sim would be launching in Spring 2023, though that has looked increasingly unlikely as time has gone on. When the title was showcased again earlier this year at the Developer_Direct showcase, it wasn’t given a concrete release date, with Microsoft and developer Turn 10 Studios only giving it a vague 2023 window- though it seems they might now be getting ready to narrow that down.

The official Microsoft Game Dev account on Twitter seems to be teasing a Summer launch window for Forza Motorsport. Turn 10’s studio head Alan Hartman recently took to Twitter with a fairly innocuous Forza-related tweet, and interestingly enough, the Microsoft Game Dev Twitter account responded to it with, “Who else is ready for summer?”

Of course, if Forza Motorsport does have a Summer launch lined up, it should be interesting to see when Microsoft will choose to place it in the calendar, especially considering the fact that Starfield is due out in September. Either way, Turn 10 recently confirmed that the racing sim is in the polishing stages of its development, so it does seem like it’s approaching the finishing line of its production cycle.

The Xbox Games Showcase is coming up in little over a month, and it’s quite likely that Microsoft will reveal more official details on Forza Motorsport at the event, so stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.
