Gamescom Opening Night Live Will be 2 Hours Long and Feature Over 30 Games

Producer and host Geoff Keighley provides brief details on the upcoming live show, which is scheduled for August 23.

Gamescom will be returning later this month as a hybrid digital and in-person event, and as has been the case for the last few years, the event will once again be kicked off by Gamescom Opening Night Live, which, as per usual, will be hosted and produced by Geoff Keighley.

Having confirmed the show for August 23 not too long ago, Keighley recently took to Twitter to share a few more details on the show. As confirmed in his tweet, Gamescom Opening Night Live will be a roughly 2-hour long live show, and unlike last year, it will have a live audience. Keighley also confirms that over 30 games will take the stage during this year’s show.

A couple of games have been confirmed for the show up until this point, including new game announcements by Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds and Owlboy developer D-Pad Studio.

Microsoft, Bandai Namco, and Ubisoft have all confirmed they will have presence at Gamescom this year, though others like Nintendo and Sony have confirmed that they’re not attending.
