Now that Summer Game Fest and the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase (among most other events) are over, all eyes are directed towards Gamescom 2022, which will be taking place from August 24 to August 28. However, n a statement issued to the German publication Gamers Wirtschaft (reported by VGC), gaming giant PlayStation has confirmed that it would not be taking part in the event.
While Gamescom’s organizers have claimed that the event will be attended by over 250 companies, the only noteworthy names that have come forward are Bandai Namco, THQ Nordic, and Koch Media. Others such as Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, and Take-Two Interactive have confirmed that they won’t be joining the show as well. Meanwhile, Xbox is rumoured to have a presence at the show.
As for PlayStation, speculation suggests that the publisher is planning a big State of Play soon ,wherein it is apparently set to unveil the release date for God of War: Ragnarok alongside new hardware reveals which include a new Pro controller, new headsets, and displays.
