Grand Theft Auto 5, Grand Theft Auto Online Now Available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5

Along with new graphics modes, the current-gen versions offer graphical improvements, new GTA Online content and quality of life changes.

Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online are finally available for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, having previously suffered a delay. Originally released in 2013, the open world action adventure features new graphics modes, ray tracing support and faster loading times on current-gen consoles. Check out how it looks below.

Other visual improvements include better anti-aliasing, increased vegetation density and lighting quality, more variety for traffic and the general NPCs, and much more. The port also supports the DualSense and Tempest 3D audio on PS5 along with Spatial Audio on the Xbox Series X/S. Those expecting new content, at least for GTA Online, can look forward to some new vehicles, vehicle upgrading via Hao’s Special Works, and a revamped menu. There’s also a new Career Builder to get new players off the ground with their own business.

Progress and profiles can be migrated from previous gen to current-gen platforms, though this is one-way deal. Rockstar ran into some trouble with PC players who migrated from PS4 and Xbox One who tried to migrate to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S but that’s since been fixed. Grand Theft Auto 5 will retail for $10 on PS5 and $20 on Xbox Series X/S while GTA Online is free on the former and $10 for the latter until June 14th.
