Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 will be releasing for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, bringing some graphical improvements along with new content to Grand Theft Auto Online. Previous-gen players can transfer their data over to current-gen, though it’s a one-time deal. This means your profile is no longer accessible on PS4 and Xbox One.
However, an issue arose wherein GTA Online players who migrated from previous-gen consoles to PC were blocked from migrating to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Fortunately, in a recent tweet, the developer confirmed that, “The issue blocking GTA Online profile migration of PS4 and Xbox One accounts that were previously migrated to PC has been addressed, and that migration is now working as intended.”
It also clarified that those who with GTA Online profiles on PC couldn’t migrate to PS5 or Xbox Series X/S. Grand Theft Auto 5 retails for $20 on Xbox Series X/S while Grand Theft Auto Online costs $10. On PlayStation 5, the base game is $10 while GTA Online is free. These discounts will last until June 14th. Stay tuned for more details on further updates in the meantime.
