Grand Theft Auto 5 Ships 33 Million Copies Till Date

Rockstar's open world title continues to rake it in.

Take Two Interactive has revealed its financial reports for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ending March 31st 2014 and has revealed that Grand Theft Auto 5 has shipped 33 million units till date. The publisher indicated three months ago that the open world title had shipped 32.5 million copies in its lifetime.

Keep in mind that this is only units shipped – actual sales at this point are still to be confirmed. Considering that the game managed to earn $1 billion within the first three days of release, we’d say it’s incredibly possible that current lifetime sales are close to number shipped.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is currently rumoured to be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with analyst Michael Pachter indicating that the PC version will be out first with the next gen versions likely to arrive next year. What are your thoughts on the same? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
