We’re just days away from the reveal trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 now, but in that final stretch, a brief snippet of gameplay footage and alleged new details on the title have leaked. Shared on TikTok by, curiously enough, a friend of the son of Aaron Garbut – who is the head of development and co-studio head at Rockstar North – the leak briefly shows off-screen recorded footage of some of the game’s environments. The footage was removed not long after it was first leaked online, as was the TikTok account that leaked it, but you can view it below, courtesy of Twitter user @GTAVI_Countdown.
The leaker also shared some alleged details on the game itself, claiming that its map (which is allegedly set in modern-day Vice City, as previous leaks have claimed as well) will be about twice as large as GTA 5’s Los Santos, while about 70% of all buildings in the world will also allegedly be enterable, a significant increase over past instalments. The leaker also claims the map will include three major cities, four sub-cities, and surrounding, smaller areas, while there will also supposedly be large lake around the middle of the map.
The leaker further claimed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently targeting a Fall 2024 release, barring any internal delays, and that pre-orders for the game will go live after it trailer airs later this week. Previous leaks have claimed that the game will release sometime in 2025.
While it’s probably wise to take the additional details shared by the leaker with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from Rockstar itself, if nothing else, the brief gameplay footage that has been shared certainly looks legitimate, primarily since the environments it shows seem to line up with the massive alpha footage leak from last year.
Grand Theft Auto 6’s reveal trailer is coming on December 5 at 9 AM ET, so we’ll know more soon enough. Stay tuned for further updates.
