A massive leak encompassing 90 videos has shown significant amounts of gameplay footage from an alpha build of Grand Theft Auto 6. As per journalist Jason Schreier over on Twitter, the leak seems legitimate- it confirms a number of details on the game that have been mentioned in previous reports, including the fact that it is set in Vice City and has two playable protagonists, one of whom is a woman.

Quite a bit of gameplay footage is shown, showcasing the open world gameplay, combat, weapons, vehicles, NPC interactions, interior locations and much more. Throughout the footage, plenty of elements can be spotted in the background that seem to confirm the leak’s legitimacy, including several well-known in-universe brands, such as LTD Gasoline, Redwood Cigarettes, LifeInvader. Gameplay for both protagonists is also shown.

Seemingly, the footage was downloaded from Rockstar’s Slack. The footage is, as mentioned previously, from an alpha version of the game, and is allegedly captured from PS4 and PC hardware. Significantly, it seems source code of the game itself has also leaked- which, more than anything else, will be a major worry for Rockstar.

You can look through all the footage via links compiled on Reddit.

It’s been previously claimed in reports that Grand Theft Auto 6 is targeting a launch sometime in 2024. It remains to be seen whether this leak will have any impact on the game’s planned release timeline, especially with its source code also allegedly having leaked. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates as this story develops.
