Guilty Gear Strive – Crossplay Currently Undergoing Verification Processes

Arc System Works is working on "schedules" and the costs of matching servers. A concrete announcement will "take a little more time."

Arc System Works’ Guilty Gear Strive released last month and has done fairly well for itself with 300,000 units in worldwide shipments and digital sales. The developer is still fairly busy with the title especially since its first DLC character is coming later this month. But what about features like crossplay?

In a new interview with Comunidad Arc System Works on Tumblr, the developer shared some details on the current state of crossplay. “Of course, we are always striving to accomplish this, and we are going through the verification processes for it. But there are still many practical issues like schedules and the running costs of matching servers. It will take a little more time before we can make a concrete announcement.”

Cross-platform play has only been confirmed between PlayStation players with those on PC unfortunately being left out (though it’s seen fairly high concurrent player peak on Steam since release). Given all the work that must be going on regarding balancing, bug fixes and other new features like the Combo Maker, it may still be a while before crossplay is added. Stay tuned for more details on that front in the meantime.

Guilty Gear Strive is currently available for PS4, PS5 and PC. Check out our official review here.
