As part of its early access showcase for Guilty Gear Strive, Arc System Works provided new details on the game’s post-launch roadmap. General director Daisuke Ishiwatari and development director Akira Katano confirmed that the first DLC character would be arriving in July 2021. This will be a “totally new character” that’s joining the series for the first time.

The second DLC character arrives in August 2021 and will be a character from past titles. After Fall 2021, the remaining three DLC characters in Season Pass 1 will be available along with two new battle stages. The “Another Story” DLC, which presumably expands on the Story Mode, should also launch.

In terms of free updates, players can expect features like the Combo Maker which allows for sharing combos that others can learn. More customization features for the player’s match room and a Digital Figure Mode, where you can create dioramas with the character models in-game, will also be added. Guilty Gear Strive is out on June 11th for PS4, PS5 and PC but goes live tomorrow for Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners. Check out the launch trailer and opening movie here.
