Helldivers 2 is refusing to slow down. Over the last couple of weeks, you’ve probably heard plenty of chatter of the impressive numbers the game is consistently posting on Steam in particular, and that’s because it keeps hitting new milestones. Just recently, the co-op shooter crossed a peak of over 276,000 concurrent players on the platform, surpassing Halo Infinite’s all-time peak in doing so, and it’s now overtaken a couple more megatons.
As per SteamDB, Helldivers 2 currently boasts a peak of 333,827 concurrent players on Steam, which means it has overtaken the likes of Dying Light Stay Human (which has a peak of 274,983 players), The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (287,411 players), Destiny 2 (316,750 players), Counter-Strike (319,586 players), and Starfield (330,723).
How far Helldivers 2 can continue to climb remains to be seen. Directly above it in the charts for all-time concurrent player count peaks is Monster Hunter World, which may very well be toppled in the near future, with the two being separated by a gap of less than a thousand players.
Incidentally, Helldivers 2’s peak is also well over four times higher than the second-biggest all-time peak seen by a Sony game on Steam, that being God of War with over 73,000 players.
The game’s unexpected success has also had the side effect of causing issues with progression, servers, and more, being caused largely by servers being overcrowded. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios recently raised the servers’ cap to 450,000 concurrent players across all platforms, and plans to keep pushing that number higher.
