High on Life Confirmed for Gamescom Opening Night Live

Squanch Games' vibrant first person shooter, which was unveiled earlier in the year, is due out for Xbox and PC in October.

High on Life was one of several games to take the stage at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase earlier in the year, and it’s fair to say that Squanch Games’ metrodvania first person shooter caught the eye of quite a few, thanks to its unique aesthetic, setting, promise of classic Justin Roiland humour, and more. We haven’t seen much of the game since then, but ahead of its October launch, we will be seeing more, as you may have guessed.

Taking recently to Twitter, Geoff Keighley – who’s once again hosting and producing Gamescom Opening Night Live this year – has confirmed that High on Life will be one of the games shown off during the show later this month, promising “an exclusive new look”.

Gamescom Opening Night Live is scheduled for August 23, and with over 30 games to be featured on stage over the course of roughly two hours, it’s promising to be packed event. A new trailer for Sonic Frontiers has already been announced for the show, while Subnautica developer Unknown Worlds will also be unveiling its next game. You can also expect few “cool surprises”, according to Keighley.

High on Life is due out on October 25 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
