The World of Assassination series has had quite the run, resulting in some of the best Hitman games released by IO Interactive. It all comes to a head in Hitman 3, which releases in January 2021. Agent 47 will still travel to exotic locations like Dubai to carry out his contracts so the end won’t be immediate.
However, it seems that locations from previous games will also be accessible. On the PlayStation Blog, IO Interactive senior community manager Travis Barbour confirmed that locations and progression from Hitman 2 will carry over into Hitman 3. “We’re very proud to have the entire trilogy all playable from within Hitman 3 and to make it the ultimate place to play any game from the trilogy.”
What makes this interesting is that locations from Hitman (2016) can be carried over into Hitman 2. So when Barbour refers to the “entire trilogy” being playable in Hitman 3, it seems that the first game’s locations will also be included. Other announcements related to the game are due in the coming months so we’ll probably know more soon.
Hitman 3 is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and PC.
