Hogwarts Legacy Won’t Have Playable Quidditch

Players will be able to use brooms for exploration, traversal, and broom race challenges, but the sport will not be playable in the game.

We’ve seen quite a bit of Hogwarts Legacy over the last few days, starting with a new trailer at Gamescom, and recent new featurette showing plenty of new gameplay footage. With that, new details on the open world action RPG have also arrived- though some of them might not entirely be pleasing to some fans.

For instance, it’s been confirmed that Quidditch will not be playable in Hogwarts Legacy. As spotted by VGC, the game’s official FAQ reveals that though players can get on a broom and use it to fly around and explore the castle’s grounds, and even take part in challenge races, the aforementioned in-universe sport is not going to be playable in the game.

“Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy,” the FAQ reads. “However, broom flight for traversal and broom race challenges are part of the game. Players can also fly brooms to explore new and familiar locations surrounding Hogwarts Castle.”

The FAQ also states that the game will allow players to take flying classes to “master their broomstick flying skills.”

Hogwarts Legacy will launch on February 10, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch version of the game is also in development but doesn’t yet have a release date.
