Lies of P Delay Was Needed to “Provide the Best Experience Possible,” Developer Says

Neowiz says it felt it "needed a few more weeks to put the finishing touches" on the upcoming Soulslike action RPG.

Though there’s no shortage of upcoming AAA megatons to send people into a frenzy of excitement, there are also plenty of relatively smaller-scale releases that have been on more than a few radars, with one in particular being Neowiz’s Bloodborne and Pinnochio inspired Soulslike action RPG Lies of P.

Originally set to launch in August, the game recently made an appearance at Summer Game Fest, with Neowiz announcing short delay into September. Following that announcement, the studio took to Twitter to offer an explanation for the delay, saying it felt it “needed a few more weeks to put the finishing touches on the game”.

“Some of you may have notice the official release date of September 19 is slightly later than the initial August release window we hade previously announced,” Neowiz wrote. “The team felt it needed a few more weeks to put the finishing touches on the game to provide the best experience possible at launch.”

Of course, with a demo of Lies of P having recently become available on all platforms, players can get a taste of the Soulslike’s offerings, so the slightly longer wait does come with some concessions.

Lies of P is due out on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. It will also be available on Game Pass at launch.
