Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Will Receive Post-Launch Content Updates

Capcom is still planning "a lot of updates" for the future.

Monster Hunter World’s first and last expansion Iceborne will be releasing this September for Xbox One and PS4 (Winter for PC). We’ve already had taste of the beta on PS4 and there’s a substantial amount of new things to play with. However, there will also be plenty of content coming after launch according to producer Ryozo Tsujimoto.

Speaking to Game Informer along with Iceborne director Daisuke Ichihara, Tsujimoto was asked if the expansion would receive the same amount of post-launch content that the base game did. “Yeah, we’re still planning a lot of the updates for the future. But we think players will get a lot of enjoyment out of it so stay tuned for details.” This seems to imply that players will enough to do in Iceborne before new content rolls out.

It was also clarified that half of the story content will take place in the base game’s regions while the rest is set in the new Hoarfrost Region. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will also have new quest rank called Master Rank that’s the equivalent of G-Rank from past games. That means tougher monsters (like the returning Barioth) but better armour and weapons.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne releases on September 6th for Xbox One and PS4. A release date for the PC version has yet to be announced.
