Outriders Patch Fixes Crossplay, Inventory Wipe Fix is Top Priority

People Can Fly outlines its intentions for item restoration in the coming weeks.

A new patch went live for People Can Fly’s Outriders over the weekend and while it fixed issues with crossplay, it aggravated the inventory wipe bug. This bug has been present since the game’s launch with players logging in to find loot earned over dozens of hours simply gone. Community manager thearcan has acknowledged the severity of the issue and the developer is making its resolution their “top priority.”

As for missing gear, the plan is to restore it on a specific date which should occur “in the coming week(s).” Only Epic and Legendaries can be restored so if you have an inventory of Rare gear, then it’s unlikely to be brought back. Though the restored gear shouldn’t replace your current inventory, the items may not “have the exact same stats as the lost items.” If the items were acquired when the game’s connection was terminated and before the autosave could record progress, then you’re out of luck.

“For any individual restorations that were missed, or that occur in future, we plan to equip our teams to help on an ad hoc basis.” The important thing to note in all of this is that these are the “intentions” of the developer and not guaranteed to happen. “While we will try our hardest to make things right, we unfortunately cannot make guarantees for the specifics of the above or the timeline of this, as we may run into technical difficulties that delay our work.”

Outriders is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. You can read our review here for more details. Stay tuned in the meantime for any new patches and updates.
