Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Sold Over 77 Million Units

While the rumored current-gen version still hasn't been announced, the 2018 open-world epic continues to put up solid numbers.

In a surprising turn of events for Take-Two Interactive, the company didn’t announce a new sales milestone for Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5. Its Q1 fiscal year 2026 financial results for the period ending June 30th revealed that sales remain the same at over 215 million sold.

Red Dead Redemption 2, however, is a different story, selling in over 77 million units, up from the 74 million+ reported for the previous quarter. The series’ sales have passed 104 million, with the additional million likely coming from the re-release of Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC.

While Rockstar focuses on Grand Theft Auto 6, rumors have circulated about Red Dead Redemption 2 potentially coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2 in late Summer or early Fall. Rob Wiethoff, who voiced John Marston, teased some major news last June but apologized for potentially “misleading” fans about it. As always, stay tuned for updates.
