Resident Evil Village Crosses 5 Million in Shipments and Digital Sales Worldwide

Released in May, the survival horror title sees Ethan Winters battling Lycans, vampires and other monstrosities to save his daughter Rose.

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Village, which launched this past May, has shipped over five million units worldwide (with digital download sales included). It previously crossed 4.5 million in worldwide shipments and digital sales in July. Compare this to Resident Evil 7: biohazard which released in January 2017 and sold over five million units by April 2018.

Resident Evil Village stars Ethan Winters who travels to an ominous village to save his daughter Rose. After dealing with Lycans and hearing about the mysterious Mother Miranda, Ethan must contend with the Four Lords of the village, including Lady Dimitrescu. The gameplay is once again set from the first person perspective but with a heavier dose of action.

Available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC, and Google Stadia, Resident Evil Village has garnered a strong amount of critical praise. You can read our review here for more details. Capcom confirmed at E3 that DLC was in development, though no further details have been offered since.
