Most Resident Evil Village fans will tell you that it’s a game that’s particularly rife for expansions, with plenty of characters and story arcs that DLC could focus on. Sure enough, fans have been hoping for expansions since the game came out. Until now, there was little indication that that would happen, with no word on whether DLC was even planned for the game.

At their E3 2021 presentation, however, Capcom confirmed that due to “popular demand”, they’ve started working on DLC for Resident Evil Village. No other details were given, other that a brief addendum that more info will follow soon. This entire message, of course, was just delivered with text on the screen. It seems DLC is pretty early in development right now, so there’s no telling when it’ll be out. There’s also the question if this will be a story expansion or an update to the Mercenaries mode.

Resident Evil Village is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
