The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase offered a number of different announcements, from new IPs like Redfall and Contraband to new reveals for Starfield and Halo Infinite. However, quite a number of titles were missing, most notably Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 from Ninja Theory. Fortunately, there will soon be news on the title’s development.
This was confirmed by the developer on Twitter who promised a “behind the scenes update” at the Xbox Games Showcased Extended, taking place tomorrow at 10 AM PT. Though it didn’t explicitly say there would be no new gameplay footage, it’s probably best to temper expectations. This lines up with recent report about a possible teaser to inform fans that development was still on-going.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is the first major exclusive to have been announced for Xbox Series X/S, having been revealed at The Game Awards 2019. It’s also coming to PC though no release window has been provided since the initial announcement. Development shifted to Unreal Engine 5 last year and Ninja Theory has been showcasing some interesting effects, like cloud formation and dissolving.
