Skull and Bones May Release in H2 2023 at the Earliest, Testers Report Game-Breaking Bugs – Rumor

Ubisoft had reportedly planned a media hands-on event preview event for the first week of February, but it's now delayed.

Ubisoft can’t catch break these days, and its woes with the action-adventure title Skull and Bones seemingly continue. It was delayed again from March to 2023-24, which could mean launch by March 31st, 2024, at the latest. If that weren’t enough, reports from play-testers and developers are less than positive, as per Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson.

Based on two developers and “second-hand accounts” of the game’s progress, there’s a belief that the title won’t release until the second half of 2023 “at the earliest.” So while it could still launch this year, it’s looking unlikely. Also, following a week-long playtest event, one playtester said that the developer responded to the lack of land-based combat with them being “too far deep into the game to do anything severe.”

Though the delay is for a more polished experience, playtesters reported that game-breaking bugs were still present. A media hands-on preview event was slated for the first week of February but has since been delayed.

Skull and Bones is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. You can check out the latest gameplay here.
