Starfield Might Not be Coming to PS5 After All – Rumour

A prominent leaker who previously blacked claims that the sci-fi RPG was going multiplatform now says it is "not destined for PS5."

It’s been a whirlwind of a week for Xbox. Multiple reports have claimed that several major first-party Xbox titles are headed for multiplatform releases, potentially signifying a major shift in strategy for Microsoft’s gaming division. Of the many first-party Xbox titles that are allegedly headed to PS5 (and in many cases, Switch), one of the most prominent is Bethesda Game Studios’ spacefaring epic, Starfield– though it seems that might not be happening after all.

At least that’s what prominent leaker NateTheHate has claimed on Twitter. Last week, after it was first reported by XboxEra that the sci-fi RPG was coming to PS5, NateTheHate backed those claims, but has now said in a tweet that after having “rechecked the info” over the week, he now believes “the information suggesting Starfield was PS5-bound was false.”

The leaker says that he still believes his previous reporting about other Microsoft first-party games getting multiplatform releases to be accurate.

Reports have claimed that multiplatform releases are also being considered for the likes of Gears of War, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, while leaks have strongly suggested that both Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves are headed to PS5 and Switch. It remains to be seen which of these actually end up happening.

Microsoft is set to unveil the full extent of its plans for Xbox in business update event next week, so stay tuned.
