Starfield: Shattered Space DLC Could be Unveiled Soon – Rumour

Updates made to the DLC section of the game's Steam backend might be hinting at an upcoming reveal of its first expansion.

We’ve known since before Starfield launched that its first expansion is going to be called Shattered Space, and in December, developer Bethesda Game Studios confirmed that it would be launching sometime in 2024, bringing new locations, gear, story content, and more. And interestingly enough, it seems like it might be formally unveiled not long from now.

Or, at the very least, that’s what updates made to the game’s Steam backend seem to suggest. Spotted by a user on RedditStarfield’s SteamDB page shows that Bethesda Game Studios recently added what’s been tagged as an “unknown app” to the game’s DLC section. Notably, the section includes only two other files, one for the game’s Premium Edition upgrade, and one for its pre-orders.

Whether that means Shattered Space will be unveiled in the not-too-distant future remains to be seen, but it sure seems like work is ramping up behind the scenes.

2024 is set to bring plenty of other additions and improvements to Bethesda’s space-faring RPG, including new gameplay features, ship building options, traversal methods, and more. Full modding support is also set to arrive this year.

Starfield is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. As of December, it had over 13 million players. Read our review of the game through here.
