Though physical sales were down by 35 percent to Jedi: Fallen Order, revenue only dropped by 19 percent due to the higher retail price.

After revealing that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was the second biggest game launch in the UK this year, Gfk’s UK physical sales charts for the week ending April 29th are now available (via GamesIndustry). Unsurprisingly, Respawn’s sequel is in first place, despite sales being 35 percent lower than Jedi: Fallen Order.

Of course, digital sales have grown in that time, but Jedi: Survivor has a higher retail price, being roughly more than £10. Revenue is thus only down by 19 percent for the sequel, with 82 percent of sales on PS5 and 18 percent on Xbox Series X/S. How digital sales will pan out remains to be seen.

As for Dead Island 2, it dropped to second place, with sales down by 45 percent. It’s worth noting that two-thirds of its launch week sales were digital, as per GSD. Other newer titles include Minecraft Legends, which went from second to seventh, as sales dropped by 62 percent. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp debuted in third place, and with sales dropping by 70 percent week-over-week, it’s now in 17th.

Check out the full Gfk UK physical top ten for the week below:

Dead Island 2 is the year's third-biggest release in the UK. Meanwhile, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp debuts in third place.

The Gfk has released its latest charts for weekly physical software sales in the UK (via GamesIndustry), and there’s a completely new top three in this week’s charts, thanks to some major new recent releases. Debuting on top of the charts is Dead Island 2, which enjoyed the year’s third-biggest launch in the UK, behind Hogwarts Legacy and Resident Evil 4 Remake.

Then there’s Minecraft Legends, which debuts in second place. It sold the best on Nintendo Switch, with 76% of its sales coming on the platform, while 19% came on PlayStation and 5% on Xbox. It is worth noting, however, that like all first party Microsoft releases, it is also available on Game Pass, which will have impacted sales on Xbox and PC in particular.

Another new release occupies No. 3 as well, with Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp not far behind the game above it, though apparently, it hasn’t sold massive numbers out the game (not that one would necessarily have expected it to). Meanwhile, the likes of FIFA 23, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 4 Remake, and Super Mario Odyssey are still in the top 10 as well, just as they were last week (and tend to be most weeks).

You can check out the full top 10 for the week ending April 22 below.

No.

Title

1.

Dead Island 2

2.

Minecraft Legends

3.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp

4.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

5.

FIFA 23

6.

Super Mario Odyssey

7.

Hogwarts Legacy

8.

Resident Evil 4 Remake

9.

Minecraft (Switch)

10.

God of War Ragnarok

Check out the gameplay for some Orange Star Commanding Officers in the latest trailer for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp.

Nintendo has released a new trailer for upcoming turn-based strategy game Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. The trailer, as part of the game’s marketing push leading up to its April 21 release date, focuses on showing off the Commanding Officers that can be used while playing as the Orange Star faction.

The trailer reveals the pros and cons of Orange Star’s various COs. The first one highlighted for example, Andy, is a well-rounded CO that doesn’t really have any weaknesses. On the other hand, Andy also doesn’t have any obvious strength that sets him apart from other COs. Andy is also able to use his Hyper Repair CO Power, healing all units by 2 HP.

In contrast, Max has access to powerful units that focus on direct combat. Max’s weakness lies in his indirect combat units, that are much weaker. Max is equipped with the Max Force CO Power, which raises the firepower of direct-combat units even further.

The third Orange Star CO, Sami, can has access to transport units that can move further, as well as infantry units that can capture properties faster than other COs. On the other hand, her non-infantry direct combat units have reduced firepower. Sami has the Double Time CO power, which gives her infantry and mech units bonus movement.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has been getting a quite a few updates recently. The most recent showing showed off the game’s battles and map editor, among other things, while an earlier trailer provided a general overview of its gameplay.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is slated for release on April 21 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

The turn-based tactics remake is finally releasing for the Nintendo Switch later this month, on April 21.

The wait for Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has been a long one, but after some unforeseen delays that pushed the game back a little bit more than most have anticipated, the remake of the beloved turn-based tactics franchise’s two Game Boy Advance instalments is finally upon us. Recently, Nintendo released an overview trailer for the game as a primer on what players can expect from it, and hot on its heels, IGN has also published a gameplay video that shows off over six minutes of new footage.

The video starts off by showcasing two battles, with Andy and his forces going up against Olaf in one, and Nell and her forces stepping in in place of the former in another. The latter of the two also gives us a glimpse of what Re-Boot Camp’s CO Powers will look like.

Meanwhile, the remake’s map editor is also showcased in the gameplay video, with its impressive variety of options and creation tools put on display. Players will be able to set various different kinds of terrain with unique properties across a grid, including sea, land, mountains, beaches, forests, and more, while other options will allow you to add in cities, bases, bridges, roads, and the like, in addition to being able to pre-deploy a vast variety of units. Check out the video below for more details.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is due out for the Nintendo Switch on April 21.

Nintendo has announced it will be premiering a roughly 40-minute long presentation tomorrow to reveal new details on upcoming Switch games.

It turns out the recent rumours have been proven true- a Nintendo Direct presentation has been announced and set for tomorrow, February 8. It will go live at 2 PM PST, and according to Nintendo, will feature “roughly 40 minutes of information” that will be “mostly” focused on games coming to the Nintendo Switch in the first half of 2023.

What exactly will that entail? We can only guess at this point, but there are certain games that many will be hoping to see. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which is due out in May, will likely be chief among them, while Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is another one that could finally get a firm release date (that doesn’t get pushed back this time). Recent updates to both games’ eShop pages have suggested that pre-orders for them could go live soon.

Last year, Nintendo also unveiled Pikmin 4 and confirmed that it would be out some time in 2023, so hopefully we’ll get a proper gameplay showing of the strategy title, along with a release date announcement. Meanwhile, Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is supposedly due out before June, also finally got an official eShop page last week, indicating that developer Team Cherry could finally be ready to confirm a release date.

Could we also see official announcements for long-rumoured remasters of the likes of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime? That remains to be seen, but thankfully, we don’t have to wait too long to find out.

Giant Bomb's Jeff Grubb has been hearing "over and over and over again" of a new Direct next week, though it isn't guaranteed.

With Xbox providing updates on its upcoming titles in the Developer_Direct and Sony readying for the launch of PlayStation VR2, Nintendo has been keeping a low profile. It’s interesting because The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, one of the biggest games of the year, is out in May and could be the last major release for the Nintendo Switch.

There have also been rumors that pre-orders for it and the delayed Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp going live soon. In the midst of this, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb believes, based on “everything I’m hearing,” that there will be a Nintendo Direct in the week of February 6th.

In the recent Last of the Nintendogs podcast, Grubb was asked whether he was expecting a Direct this month and what his pulse was on the same. “Yeah, I mean…everything I’m hearing, and it’s all just sort of reiterating it. It continues to be the week of February 6th, over and over and over again. Every little detail I get is basically a week from now.

“We should be getting… We should begin hearing about all this stuff. I think it’s probably late in the week…” Grubb didn’t guarantee anything, though. “I’m just saying that’s what everything’s sort of pointing to right now. I don’t think that’s too surprising because they always have one in February or March, at the latest.”

He predicts that Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will receive updates, though there should be other announcements. Of course, time will tell, so stay tuned for more details in the coming week.

The eShop pages for both games were recently updated with new NSUIDs, suggesting that pre-orders for the titles could go live soon.

With the first month of 2023 nearly over, we’re beginning to take a closer look at what Nintendo has in store for the Switch over the coming months, especially with reports claiming that the Japanese company is looking to keep is console active and alive for at least another year. A handful of major first party games have, of course, been announced for the Switch for 2023, and it seems updates on some of them could be coming soon.

As reported by a user on Famiboards, the eShop pages of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp were recently updated, with both games being given new NSUIDs. Games receiving updated or new NSUIDs on the eShop usually aligns with pre-orders going live for them, and that, as you might imagine, as what speculation suggests is at work here as well.

Nintendo traditionally holds Direct presentations in the early weeks of every year to give deeper looks at its upcoming titles, and many will be hoping that another one of those is around the corner. Then again, the company has also been known to drop new information and updates through social media, so it’s possible that pre-orders going live for upcoming first party titles is something it simply ends up announcing on Twitter.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp has been a long time coming and has been delayed multiple times, though Nintendo has insisted that it is still in the pipeline. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, meanwhile, is set to launch for the Switch on May 12.
