The store listing showcases t-shirts and other items such as storage boxes which seem to be pre-order bonus items.

We had reported earlier on the rumor that the new Call of Duty game which is set to release in 2018 is going to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. This information was leaked by Marcus Sellars who has a decent track record of providing leaked information related to the games industry. Now, we’ve received more evidence in the form of some images which suggest that the latest entry in the series is going to be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.

The images showcase listings of Black Ops 4 merchandise that are allegedly from GameStop’s internal database. The images show a whole bunch of T-shirts and a lanyard and many other items as well. Items such as the ‘Storage Boxes’ are listed for $0.00, so it’s likely that these are promotional items given to those who pre-order the game.

You can check out the images below. Keep in mind that is still a rumor so take this information with a grain of salt. In the meantime, keep your eyes and ears open for any more information regarding the upcoming entry into the Call of Duty franchise.

Treyarch are next in line to develop a Call of Duty game, which is due out later this year, and while there has been no official word on what exactly the game will be, there have been a few vague hints and reports. David Vonderhaar, who is game design director at the studio, recently took to Twitter to post a few messages about his and Treyarch’s experience working over the past few years and, more specifically, on the upcoming Call of Duty as well.

Vonderhaar by talking about the challenges he’s overcome over his career and the things he’s learned through them as a result, before going on to talk about how the team at Treyarch has responded to challenges during development of games (presumably Call of Duty 2018 as well) has “humbled” him, in his words. He ended by saying that Treyarch are doing “the best work of our lives”. You can read the full tweets below.

As per leaks, Call of Duty 2018 is actually going to be Black Ops 4, but rather than the sci-fi setting of Black Ops 3, it will go for a much more grounded approach. Some reports also suggest that the game might come out on the Nintendo Switch as well. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.

Zombies, mutants, soldiers - there's no shortage of things to shoot in the coming years.

One thing you can be sure of in this day and age – there won’t ever be a shortage of shooting games. Be it multiplayer titles, co-op titles, Call of Duty and Battlefield, or dark fantasy, there are some pretty good shooters coming up in 2018 and beyond. Let’s take a look at 15 of them here.

Call of Duty 2018

A new Call of Duty will be releasing this year. Surprise, surprise. Given how we know Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have had their turn, Activision would confirm that Treyarch is up next. Even more surprises! Now, the rumours that this may be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? Even less surprising but it would be interesting to see where the franchise goes, especially given the augmented reality/mind-jacking mess that was Black Ops 3.

Activision is currently testing it out in Call of Duty: Online.

With the explosion in popularity for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, followed by a very similar explosion in popularity for Fortnite, battle royale modes have become something of a trend in the online shooter space, and understandably enough, all the other big names want a piece of the pie as well. It seems like this year’s Call of Duty is also going to have a battle royale mode.

Activision have launched a trial run of a battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Online, the free-to-play PC title that is exclusive to China. That said, the battle royale mode is a little different from what you see in the likes of PUBG and Fortnite. Rather than 100 players, there are 18 players here (which makes sense, considering the fact that maps in Call of Duty are considerably smaller), rather than dropping out of a plane, players choose their starting point at the beginning of every match themselves, there’s an announcer, while the crowd also cheers anytime someone gets offed.

It definitely looks interesting, and we’re hoping Treyarch will include it in this year’s game as well. Given how successful it has been, we’re pretty confident that they will do so, but again, right now it’s all up in the air. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for constant coverage on Call of Duty 2018.

Treyarch working on having "the best engine and feature set possible."

With Treyarch slated to release the next Call of Duty game in Activision’s developer-cycling system, curiosity about the upcoming shooter has been ramping up. Treyarch has recently posted several job ads to indicate that an increased graphical fidelity is going to be one of their main focuses, and they’ve now posted yet another one that seems to be taking that further.

The studio is looking to hire a “Senior Core Technology Engineer” to work on the upcoming Call of Duty title. “We are looking for someone who can brainstorm and implement new graphical features or content creation workflows all the way through the pipeline to runtime,” the job ad says. The ad goes on to detail exactly what the applicant will be required to do, such as providing “the best engine and feature set possible”, or “implement new graphics features in [the] game engine”.

This work will be releated to Treyarch’s “next blockbuster, cutting-edge game title” as per the job description and given how Activision has already confirmed a new title in the series and how Treyarch is teasing the same, it’s not exactly rocket science to conclude that this job listing relates to the neew Call of Duty due for release this year.

For a few weeks we’ve been reporting on the upcoming Call of Duty game which is (probably) being developed by Black Ops developer Treyarch. Numerous job ads have hinted at the possibility, while Activision themselves have also confirmed that it will indeed by Treyarch who will be developing this year’s Call of Duty instalment.

And a new tweet posted by the developer’s official Twitter page seems to be confirming the same. In the tweet, Treyarch writes that it is looking forward to the year ahead and that they cannot “wait to share more” details on just what might be coming up ahead.

If recent reports are anything to go by, their upcoming game might be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. As per reports, the game’s set to be much more grounded in tone and setting, as opposed to the much more sci fi-like Black Ops 3. Interestingly enough, the reports also claim that the game is going to launch on the Nintendo Switch as well. You can read all about it here.

But will it be Black Ops 4?

Call of Duty is now on a three year cycle, with Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch releasing a game in turns every subsequent year. 2016 saw Infinity Ward give us Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare; meanwhile, 2017 saw Sledgehammer deliver Call of Duty: WW2. It therefore stands to reason that this year’s game will be Treyarch’s game.

And speaking at their investor earnings call, Activision has confirmed that that will indeed be the case. This year’s Call of Duty game will be a Treyarch showing, who are the folks behind the beloved Black Ops series. Given that Black Ops is the most successful Call of Duty brand, and that several rumors have hinted that this year’s title is going to be a modern day Black Ops 4, that may be what we can expect this year- but that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, at any rate. So far, all we know is that Treyarch is making it.

We can probably expect to find out more about the game soon, though. Activision usually reveals a new game in the franchise in April-May every year, so we should be learning more soon enough.

There are some things in life that are bound to happen and if the last decade is anything to go by, then a new Call of Duty title is one of those things. According to new insider information, we now have a rumour that the next game is Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and that in addition to the usual suite of systems, the Nintendo Switch is set to get the game.

Take this report with a grain of salt, but according to Marcus Sellars, who has a pretty fair track record, predicting numerous announcements, events and knew about Nintendo Labo ahead of time, said via a tweet that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be a modern, boots on the ground shooter. The Switch version is being ported by a company already familiar with the Call of Duty titles and will be fully featured, including support for HD Rumble, DLC and motion controls.

Really, the only major leap here is the Nintendo Switch version, and given the runaway success of the system, it’s easy to predict that Activision would want to get a piece of that pie with their biggest franchise. Stay tuned to Gamingbolt as this story develops.

The studio has posted another job listing.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the next Call of Duty title, to be released in 2018, is going to be developed by Black Ops developer Treyarch. After Infinity Ward’s Infinite Warfare in 2016, and Sledgehammer’s WW2 in 2017, Activision’s three developer alternating cycle dictates that Treyarch is next in line to make a new game in the first person shooter franchise. The studio has posted several job listings in recent weeks to indicate the same, and now they’ve posted another one.

As per the new job listing posted on Activision’s official website, Treyarch is looking to hire a new FX Artist in a temporary and on-site role. The primary focus here seems to be on Post FX, 2D in-game assets ranging from full screen effects, overlays, special VFX shader manipulation, to in game animated displays. As per the listing, the applicant will be “working with proprietary tools to set up Post FX, while using existing 2D assets or creating new 2D assets as needed to see them through execution” and “create high quality visuals that also render in real-time.”

This is one of many job ads to have been posted by Treyarch in recent weeks. Others have indicated a focus on lighting, character models, animations, and cutscenes. You can keep up to date with our complete coverage for Call of Duty 2018 coverage here.

New update on Treyarch's next Call of Duty title.

In the past few weeks, we’ve learned thanks to various job ads posted by Treyarch that the studio is currently working on the next Call of Duty project. As per another ad posted on Activision’s official website for a vacancy in the studio, Treyarch are also looking for a Senior Cinematic Animator to work on Call of Duty 2018.

As per the posting, Treyarch are looking to create “the highest quality cinematic animation” that will push “the boundaries of game play, storytelling, and technology”. What’s more, if everything else that is written in the posting is anything to go by, it definitely looks like story and storytelling are going to be a major focus in the next Call of Duty title.

For instance, it is stated that the applicant will be producing “high quality cinematic animation”, while storytelling is also being slated as “the highest priority”. Additionally, the person applying for the job will also be “responsible for major story arcs from inception to completion”.

Of course, Activision haven’t made any such official confirmation yet, but it’s no surprise to anyone that there’s going to be a Call of Duty game by Treyarch this year. Either way, stay tuned to GamingBolt and we’ll keep you updated on this as more info comes our way.
