Call of Duty 2018 Will Be By Treyarch, Activision Confirms

But will it be Black Ops 4?

Call of Duty is now on a three year cycle, with Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, and Treyarch releasing a game in turns every subsequent year. 2016 saw Infinity Ward give us Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare; meanwhile, 2017 saw Sledgehammer deliver Call of Duty: WW2. It therefore stands to reason that this year’s game will be Treyarch’s game.

And speaking at their investor earnings call, Activision has confirmed that that will indeed be the case. This year’s Call of Duty game will be a Treyarch showing, who are the folks behind the beloved Black Ops series. Given that Black Ops is the most successful Call of Duty brand, and that several rumors have hinted that this year’s title is going to be a modern day Black Ops 4, that may be what we can expect this year- but that hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, at any rate. So far, all we know is that Treyarch is making it.

We can probably expect to find out more about the game soon, though. Activision usually reveals a new game in the franchise in April-May every year, so we should be learning more soon enough.
