For starters, there is, of course, the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, which is available to subscribers of both tiers. Among the many games that this library will add on November 19, some of the more notable ones of Grand Theft Auto 5, Dying Light 2 Stay Human, Like a Dragon: Ishin!, and Chivalry 2, among many others.

Meanwhile, PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers also get access to legacy and VR titles every month, with this month’s offerings bringing Synapse for PS VR2, as well as classic PS1 and PS2 action-adventure titles Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Blood Omen 2, ahead of the December release of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered.

Finally, Insomniac Games’ beloved PS3 first-person shooters Resistance: Fall of Man and its sequel Resistance 2 will both also be available to PS Plus Premium subscribers, but only via streaming. You can check out the full list of upcoming additions across both tiers below.

Codemasters’ racer GRID Legends, RageSquid’s extreme downhill biking game Descenders, and Torn Banner Studios’ multiplayer medieval action title Chivalry 2 are the PlayStation Plus games for the month of May. All games will be added on May 2 and will remain available for subscribers of the service until June 6. That means subscribers have until May 1 to redeem April’s offerings, which are Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Tails of Iron, and Meet Your Maker.

Sony will, of course, also be adding a longer list of titles to the PlayStation Game Catalog for subscribers on the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers, so expect to get details on what that lineup will be in the coming days.

On October 6th, Medieval Dynasty will be available for Xbox Series X/S players. This is a survival RPG with crafting and town management elements, currently available for PC. The first two seasons of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will also be available for PC players.

On October 11th, Double Fine’s Costume Quest is available on consoles and cloud along with the social deduction game Eville, playable on consoles and PC. Dyson Sphere Program joins the service on October 13th for PC players. On October 14th, Ebb Software’s Scorn finally releases for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and cloud.

The first wave wraps up with A Plague Tale: Requiem on October 18th for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and cloud. Several titles will also leave the service on October 15th, so play them now while you have the chance. They are as follows:

Tenosian Invasion—a free update on all platforms—is set to be the largest, most ambitious content update for the game so far. New content in the update includes the new Tenosian faction, new maps for Team Objective and Team Deathmatch modes, Armory items, and weapon skins.

With the Tenosian Invasion update, Chivalry 2 is now also getting horseback combat, as well as a new Console Server Browser that supports cross-play.

The new maps included in Tenosion Invasion are The Breach of Baudwyn and The Razing of Askandir for Team Objective, and Desert and The Charge of Wardenglade for Team Deathmatch.

Alongside the Steam release and the update, Tripwire Presents has also announced that Chivalry 2 is set to come to Game Pass on console and PC before the end of the year.

Chivalry 2 is out on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

For starters, there’s Back 4 Blood, which is out now and boasting up to a 46% performance boost with DLSS on. Baldur’s Gate 3 is also receiving a new update this week, and with DLSS on, it will see up to a whopping 88% performance boost at 4K resolution. Crysis Remastered Trilogy, out later this week, will also support DLSS across all three games.

Meanwhile, October 18 will also see DLSS support added to Rise of the Tomb Raider (with up to a 75% performance boost), while Shadow of the Tomb Raider – which currently supports DLSS 1.0 – will be upgraded to the current version as well. Chivalry 2 will receive support on October 26 and see up to 45% performance boosts, while Sword and Fairy 7, which is out on October 21, will also have full ray-tracing and DLSS support.

Swords of Legend Online will see up to 60% performance boosts starting October 14. Meanwhile, both F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch and Alan Wake Remastered are also new additions to the DLSS list in October.

It’s getting pretty good engagement numbers as well, apparently. According to stats released by Torn Banner and publisher Tripwire Interactive, Chivalry 2’s player base has collectively played the game for over 8 million hours, during which time they’ve all killed over 420 million knights in battle. The Messer is apparently the most popular weapon in the game, too.

“We are so happy to have brought Chivalry 2’s unique experience of bloody, epic medieval warfare to so many people – and we’re already hard at work expanding the game much, much more,” said Torn Banner president Steve Piggott.

Tripwire Interactive CEO John Gibson added: “We’ve been blown away by the response from players and critics alike, and the team is already hard at work on more great free content and adding highly requested features such as cross-platform parties.”

Chivalry 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Ratchet and Clank isn’t the only new release in this week’s charts. Torn Banner Studios’ Chivalry 2 debuts in ninth place, 41% of its sales on PS5, 32% on Xbox Series X/S, and 36% on PS4. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is in at No. 12, while Guilty Gear Strive has debuted at No. 26. 

Meanwhile, FIFA 21, which topped charts last week, has dropped down to second place. Other perennial chart toppers like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and the Switch version of Minecraft are all in the top 10 as well.

Along with new maps, there will be new weapons and even a new fighting style. The development team is looking to support the game with free content updates for a while. In the process, the game will “at least” double in size. Chivalry 2 is currently available for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and PC with cross-platform play available.

The first person hack and slash title offers Team Deathmatch and Team Objective modes with up to 64 players participating. It offers improved combat over the original along with mounts for faster movement. Stay tuned for more details from the PC Gaming Show in the meantime.

Both Team Deathmatch and Team Objective modes support up to 64 players, allowing for massive skirmishes with siege equipment, arrows and whatnot flying all over the place. Combat has been improved and the ability to ride horses allows for quicker traversal in the larger maps. CEO and creative director Steve Piggott said in a press release that Chivalry 2 has fulfills the studio’s vision of “creating the ultimate medieval battlefield game.”

“It’s all-out insane, epic 64-player online carnage that finally delivers to gamers the intensity of being in your favourite medieval movie battle scenes. Chivalry 2 pulls you right into the action, delivering the satisfaction of an incredibly deep combat system, the cinematic glory of sieging castles, the chaos of a massive wave of knights smashing into each other, and hilarious Monty Python inspired voice overs. We can’t wait to hear our fans roaring their battle cries on the battlefield.”

Tripwire Interactive CEO John Gibson added, “When we started this journey two years ago, I knew that Torn Banner Studios would make a great first-person medieval combat game with Chivalry 2. Now that the game is done, however, I am blown away at what they have created. Chivalry 2 will redefine first person melee combat, and it has been a pleasure for Tripwire Presents to support Torn Banner in making this incredible game a reality.”

With the game’s release, maps like The Fighting Pit and Escape from Falmire will be new those who participated in the beta. This isn’t the end of the Chivalry 2’s journey though. Ray tracing support will be coming to Xbox Series X and PS5 in the future. It will also make an appearance at The PC Gaming Show on June 13th with the developer having an announcement planned. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Tripwire Interactive’s Chivalry 2 is out next month but before that, players across various platforms can partake in the open beta. It starts on May 27th and ends June 1st with cross-platform play enabled. To offer some idea on the gameplay, the developer has released a new video.

The presentation takes heavy inspiration from Hollywood films, from the opening speech by one’s commander to having a “story” for each battle. Customization ranges from facial scars and weapon skins to voice over lines and emotes. Various maps are also detailed, starting with Lionspire which sees soldiers battling on the beach, while Rudhelm begins with a siege and trebuchets.

Coxwell is very interesting because it sees one side as the Masons invading a small village and plundering it while the defenders take the role of peasants fighting back. The open beta will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC next week while the full game launches on June 8th. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
