It’s been a few months since Patch 5 dropped for Larian Studios’ Baldur’s Gate 3 but the development team has been hard at work. Patch 6 is “almost here” according to a new Steam post and at EGX in London this week, it will offer an exclusive look at the next playable class. “Who’s ready to make some magic?” seems to indicate it will be the Sorcerer.

Another new addition is Salami which can be equipped. This is a reference to the Twitch Plays: A Most Noble Sacrifice stream and you can even dual wield them. Given that Patch 6 will be 60 GB, there is a lot more to look forward to so expect a deep dive at the next Panel from Hell. Saves for Patch 5 and earlier versions will be incompatible but players still have the option to opt for different branches on Steam.

This will restrict you to Patch 4 or 5 but allows for continuing one’s save. Simply right click on the title in your Steam Library, go to properties, navigate to the Betas and look for “Select the beta you would like to opt in to.” Choose Patch 5 and you’re good to go. Stay tuned for more details on Patch 6 in the meantime.
