Launched in 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch, it’s a remaster of 1999’s Crash Team Racing, Naughty Dog’s take on a kart racer involving the series’ characters. However, it also incorporates content from sequels Crash Nitro Kart and Crash Tag Team Racing on top of revamped visuals (which stretch the definition of “remaster”).

Several new additions include online multiplayer, new cutscenes in Adventure Mode, and the Pit Stop, which players can use to unlock post-launch content. The addition of microtransactions was criticized, but Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled otherwise received positive acclaim at launch for its gameplay, faithfulness to the original, and presentation. Microsoft has announced that Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled will release for Xbox Game Pass on December 4, later this week. The acclaimed kart racing remake launched in 2019 for consoles and received widespread acclaim, and is certainly worth a look for subscribers who haven’t already played the game.

Earlier this year, Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy became the first Crash title to launch for Game Pass. Other Activision Blizzard games available on the service include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Diablo 4, and Spyro Reignited Trilogy.

Mafia: Definitive Edition

After the Definitive Editions for Mafia 2 and Mafia 3 released with numerous issues, there was concern for Mafia: Definitive Edition especially since it’s a full-fledged remake. Fortunately, Hangar 13 has exhibited true love and care in updating the classic. The graphics have been significantly improved, especially with the new lighting engine; more story sequences have been added; and even the layout between objectives has been redesigned. So if you’ve ever wanted to experience Tommy Angelo’s rise through crime, this is the way to do it.

With a Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time on the horizon, courtesy of Toys for Bob, it’s easy to forget about Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. Released in June 2019, the kart-racing remaster actually had substantial updates in the form of new racers, karts, tracks and more. The last major Grand Prix was in March 2020 and since then, there have been no updates.

Developer Beenox finally confirmed on Twitter on that the March update was its last major content drop with no additional content currently planned. “Part of the reason is that we’re hard at work on some other incredible projects, including making the N. Verted modes in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (which will blow you away.” The studio is also working on “some other things we can’t quite mention yet.”

Thankfully, the current-gen modes and features for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, from the leaderboards and Pit Stop to the online multiplayer, will continue to function. Overall, it’s not a bad end for the remaster considering all of the additional content it received. That’s even if PC players didn’t get a port (though never say never).

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is currently planned to release on October 2nd for PS4 and Xbox. Recently, Toys for Bob unveiled new Flashback Levels, which see Crash and Coco braving some very tough challenges in Neo Cortex’s lab. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

The beloved kart racing, Crash Team Racing, got a special remaster/remake last year. A combination of several titles from the PS1 era, it’s been a treat for fans. Activision and developer Beenox have also kept the post-launch support consistently since the original release. While that support isn’t going away, it is changing, and the last of the current Grand Prix model is now.

It was announced earlier that the 8th season Grand Prix would be the last one. It’s called Gasmoxia and actually continues the story from the main campaign. It takes place on the home planet of the main villain, Nitro Oxide. It adds new Karts, challenges and skins, which you can see below.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch. The Gasmoxia Grand Prix is live now across all versions of the game. There’s no word on what the model will be for ongoing content after this is done, so we’ll keep you updated.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled was another successful remaster in the Crash series. It brought back one of the most beloved cart racing games of all time to a new generation, and it’s a gift that’s continued giving with various Grand Prix events that’s given out tons of characters, carts and more. Now, unfortunately, those are coming to an end and new content will come in a different way.

In an official blog post about the game, they gave a breakdown of what has been part of the Grand Prixs so far. They confirmed that Season 8 will be the finale. It’s not the end of content support, however, as a new challenge system that includes things like time trials will replace the Grand Prix seasons. New characters, carts, paint jobs and more will still come in on a steady basis. We’ll keep you updated as more information comes out.

A new Grand Prix begins today for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, this time focusing on a more Mad Max-esque track. The Rustland Grand Prix will be available until February 16th and adds the Mega-Mix Mania track. Check out the trailer below.

Players have a new character to unlock in Mega-Mix, a mutant that’s a combination of N. Gin, Tiny Tiger and Dingodile. Three new karts are also available to unlock along with new Rustland skins, stickers, decals, wheels and paint. Finally, those who managed to hit the top five percent of the leaderboards when the Grand Prix ends will receive a Champion Kart and special decal.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is currently available for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC. It’s seen a number of Grand Prix events till now, each adding new tracks, characters and cosmetics to the game. While a new game doesn’t seem to be on the horizon (for now), Activision is rumored to be working on a new Crash Bandicoot title. Stay tuned for potentially more details on that in the coming months.

Beenox has dated the next Grand Prix for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, namely Neon Circus. Taking place from November 8th at 7 AM PST to December 8th, it will introduce a new track, a new character and tons of new cosmetics to earn. Check out the reveal trailer below.

The Grand Prix is, shocker of shocks, circus-themed and players can earn different themed skins, wheels, stickers, animated paint jobs, and decals wile it’s going on. There’s also a new game and challenges to complete. You’ll need an internet connection to access the event and keep in mind that all content is subject to change.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled has been a huge success for the Bandicoot, solidifying the character’s return to the mainstream. It’s managed to also have a good deal of post-launch content. It has several grand prix coming out, up to three more seasons in fact. Today we get a special new paid kart that goes to charity.

The limited edition Firehawk kart is available now for $4.99 USD. The vehicle is styled after an airplane propeller. The proceeds go to The Call of Duty Endowment, as seen from the official tweet below. It will be sold in the US and UK regions for now up until proceeds reach 1 million USD. Once it hits that milestone it will no longer be available. The funds will go in support of all returning vets to help them with their job searches when they leave the military.
