New Crash Bandicoot Game To Be Revealed At The Game Awards – Rumour

Activision might be getting ready to graduate from remakes to sequels.

The iconic Crash Bandicoot franchise has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years, thanks to the one-two punch of two incredible remakes in the form of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy (which was actually three remakes in one package) in 2017, and Crash Team Team Racing Nitro-Fueled earlier this year. Now, it seems like Activision might be gearing up to work not on an older game on the series, but a brand new sequel.

As pointed out by @Canadianguyeh on Twitter, several prominent influencers recently received Christmas-themed Crash Bandicoot toys andn merchandise out of the blue. Ordinarily one might think that assuming a new announcement is on the horizon on the basis of that would be a bit of a stretch, but there’s a couple of things to consider here.

For starters, both Crash remakes in the last couple of years have been extremely successful for Activision, so it goes without saying that they’re going to keep on investing in the property. More importantly, Crash Christmas cookies were also randomly sent out to people last year, and that was followed by a reveal for Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled at The Game Awards 2018- so there might be a pattern here.

Recently, it was also confirmed that there would be around 15 new game reveals at The Game Awards, so it’s pretty likely that Crash might be one of them. There’s also the chance that the announcement could be made at the upcoming State of Play. Then again, maybe all of this means nothing, and we’re just reading a bit too much into it.
