Gamescom Opening Night Live kicked off the trade fair last week and has amassed 12 million views. The entire program garnered over 130 million views, as of this past Saturday evening. Gamescom 2023 has been announced and runs from August 23rd to 27th next year. The next Gamescom Opening Night Live takes place on August 22nd, 2023.

As for this year’s showcase, it contained a myriad of announcements. Hogwarts Legacy received a new trailer and Digital Deluxe Edition details. Sonic Frontiers received a new trailer along with a November 8th release date. Then there was the re-emergence of Dead Island 2, which is out on February 3rd, 2023 for consoles and PC.

Until Sony officially announces its next PlayStation Showcase (currently rumored for September 8th), the next big event is The Game Awards. It’s set to take place on December 8th. Stay tuned for more details on the same in the coming months.

Players can also save multiple control profiles and change them on the fly. There’s also an “Fn” button to access the settings, adjust game and chat volumes, swap between control profiles, and more. You can also change the stick caps and back buttons with three types (standard, high dome and low dome) for the former and two types (half-dome and lever) for the latter.

It also includes the ability to replace each stick module, though these are sold separately. Along with a USB Type-C braided cable, a carrying case is provided. A price and launch date haven’t been revealed, but more details are slated for the “months ahead.” Stay tuned in the meantime.

The Outlast Trials is set during the Cold War era with players volunteering for the Murkoff Corporation. Unfortunately, the group is running for some horrifying experiments. While players can embark on these alone and try to escape, they can also team up with up to four friends.

While the first two games were likened to movies, studio co-founder Philippe Morin feels The Outlast Trials is more of a TV series (though an episodic approach hasn’t been confirmed). Given the co-op focus, various content updates may arrive after launch to advance the plot.

The Outlast Trials is currently slated for PC. Stay tuned for more details on the closed beta tests in the coming weeks.

In the trailer, we see the likes of Harley Quinn and Clayface, while a Talon of the Court of Owls also shows up- though the latter is no surprise, of course, considering the game’s central premise. Some more bits and pieces of gameplay also get shown off, with tidbits and combat being shown with each of the four main heroes.

Interestingly, WB Games has also brought Gotham Knights’ launch slightly forward. Hot on the heels of having gone gold, previously set to release on October 25, the game is now due out on October 21. It’ll be available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Based on the Amazon TV shows, the story sees Drummer and her crew on the Artemis scavenging a mysterious ship. Things aren’t quite so peachy though (read: lots of dismembered heads), but there’s a job to be done. In addition to tough choices, franchise fans can see a more sensitive side to Drummer (before her appearance in the show).

The Expanse: A Telltale Series is out in Summer 2023, though its platforms have yet to be confirmed. Along with Telltale Games, Deck Nine is also involved in development. Hopefully, more gameplay will be revealed in the coming months. Stay tuned in the meantime.

The cinematic trailer gives us a solid glimpse at the New Tales from the Borderlands story, and even potentially sets up the primary antagonists.

New Tales from the Borderlands focuses on the story of three lovable losers who can’t stay out of their way. The game will take place over five parts, and will feature a number of new and returning characters.

Details about New Tales from the Borderlands‘ story were leaked earlier this month through an IMDA classification in Singapore. Set in Promethea on Pandora, players will take on the roles of protagonists Anu, Octavio, and Fran.

New Tales from the Borderlands is set to release on Occtober 21, and will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

Developer Blackbird Interactive and publisher Gearbox brought the strategy title to Gamescom Opening Night Live with a new gameplay trailer, which offers a sneak peak of some of the gameplay mechanics. In particular, the trailer shows an ambush by raiders, the tactics players can employ to fight their way through such ambushes, how enemy ships can be captured, and more. It’s a solid taste of the title, if not an entirely meaty one. Check out the trailer below.

Homeworld 3 was previously targeting a launch in Q4 of this year, but recently got delayed into the first half of 2023. It’s in development for PC.

Along with facing “ancient dangers,” you’ll explore the world, uncovering various fragments and learning more about the past. Atlas Fallen is playable solo or in co-op with players able to create their own playstyles. Weapons are described as “shape-shifting,” which can be seen in the blades transforming into whips and giant axes in the trailer, based on one’s need.

Of course, there will also be sand-based abilities. While the overall gameplay loop is unknown, you can hunt legendary monsters and it seems that gathering essence from enemies is the key to customizing one’s skills. Stay tuned for more details on Atlas Fallen in the coming months.

The trailer, which is quite a meaty one, starts with focusing on Lies of P’s setting and world, before diving into its gameplay, showcasing glimpses of the game’s combat and several of its locations. Combat is looking intense and fast, with a number of different weapons to use, while the variety and design of the enemies shown off is also looking impressive. Check out the full trailer below.

Lies of P will launch next year for PS5, Xbox Seriex X/S, and PC, while Neowiz also has also announced PS4 and Xbox One versions, and that it’ll be available via Game Pass at launch.

Players choose a captain and up to 10 crew, with gameplay described as Hearthstone meets XCOM. One can compete against other players online or engage in offline challenges. Those keen on single-player can engage in Cargo Runs which offer procedurally generated encounters, upgraded abilities, and more.

Crew and captains are unlocked by playing the game, and there will be over 50 units, captains and assists available at launch. Even more will be added with each new Season. On top of this, players can also paint their miniatures with digital painting tools. You can have decals, auras, deploy effects, and much more.
