Neowiz and Round8 Studio have announced Lies of P, a Souls-like action RPG based on Carlo Collodi’s famous novel Pinocchio. Set in the ruined city of Krat, it sees hostile automatons roaming about. The protagonist Pinocchio seeks Mr. Geppetto in an attempt to make things right. Check out the alpha gameplay trailer below.
On top of a gothic horror aesthetic (not unlike FromSoftware’s Bloodborne), Lies of P also features some very solid-looking combat. There are a variety of weapons to use from large curved swords to rapiers and clubs. Pinocchio also has a mechanical arm that uses various tools like a grappling hook and flamethrower. Reactive counterattacks are also a thing as carefully timing the same allows for destroying enemies.
Lies of P is slated to release in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will receive more details at G-STAR 2021 which takes place on November 17th to 21st so stay tuned in the meantime.
