According to the Sega Sammy Management Meeting 2025 presentation, both titles will launch in or after fiscal year 2027. It begins on April 1st, 2026, but that doesn’t mean either could arrive by next year. Instead, they could very well launch by March 31st, 2027, which is when the fiscal year concludes.

Of course, there are several titles whose release windows remain unknown, including the next Virtua Fighter, Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, so stay tuned for updates. Sega has several other titles coming this year to fill the gap, with Shinobi: Art of Vengeance out on August 29th and Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds launching on September 25th. While no gameplay was revealed in the trailer, we did get a good look at the new rendition of the small village of Inaba thanks to the more modern technology powering the game under the hood. If Persona 3 Reload is any indication, we will likely also see more modernised menus in Persona 4 Revival that are more in line with Persona 5.

The fact that a remake of Persona 4 was in the works has been the subject of quite a few rumours in recent times. The game is likely being made for the studio to get some practice in as they start work on the next mainline title in the Persona franchise.

Persona 4 Revival is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will also be playable through Xbox Cloud.

The report indicates that this remake of Persona 4 will be similar in style to Persona 3 Reload, which saw completely new assets, including voice acting and music, as well as improved visuals owing to the fact that the game was made using the engine powering Persona 5 and more recent games in the series.

While the gameplay in Persona 3 Reload was largely left the same as the original, there were a few quality-of-life changes, including the ability to manually command your team mates to use specific attacks and spells. The rumoured Persona 4 remake will also likely feature some similar quality-of-life updates.

Back in May, Yuri Lowenthal – who has previously been the voice actor of Persona 4 party member Yosuke Hanamura – had indicated that a Persona 4 remake was in the works. On social media platform BlueSky, Lowenthal said that, while he had “begged” to reprise his role as Yosuke in the remake, Atlus had declined. Lowenthal’s post has since been deleted.

Persona 4 was originally released all the way back in 2008 on the PS2. The game featured major changes from its predecessor – Persona 3 – by bringing in a wider variety of dungeons and a more vibrant cast of characters. Contrasting with Persona 3, Persona 4 also left behind the big city setting of its predecessor, instead taking place in the small village of Inaba.

In Persona 4, players are put into the shoes of a high school student that has been freshly transferred to Inaba to live with his uncle and cousin sister for a year. Over the course of the first few days, a rumour about something called the “Midnight Channel” spreads around, where those who stare at a switched-off TV at midnight will get to see a picture of their soulmate.

In true Persona fashion, the protagonist, along with friends from his high school, will venture into an alternate world where they must take on the shadow-y manifestations of peoples’ darkest thoughts. To take on these enemies, the protagonist and his friends tap into the powers of their own thoughts – the eponymous Persona.

Along with Persona 3, Persona 4 was the major title that attracted a more mainstream audience to the franchise. The game was popular enough to get an extended re-release for the PlayStation Vita – which was eventually released on all modern platforms – dubbed Persona 4 Golden, as well as anime and movie adaptations, and even spin-off titles.

Persona has been one of the biggest franchises under Atlus, and by extension, under Sega as a whole. The most recent mainline entry in the series was Persona 5 Royal, which also got sequels and spin-offs in the form of Persona 5 Strikers and Persona 5 Tactica.

Actor Yuri Lowenthal, best known for playing Peter Parker / Spider-Man in Insomniac and PlayStation’s Spider-Man games, and the voice of core cast character Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4, may have accidentally confirmed a remake’s existence.

Taking recently to BlueSky and responding to a fan’s question, Lowenthal claimed that he “begged” to reprise his role his Y0suke in the Persona 4 remake, but Atlus declined. A Persona 4 remake has yet to be officially announced. Lowenthal has since then deleted his post.

“And for those who keep asking, no, I will not be returning as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake,” the actor wrote (via VGC). “I asked. Maybe I even begged, but they don’t want me to come back.”

Interestingly, earlier this year, Atlus also registered what was believed to be a domain for a Persona 4 remake, suggesting that an announcement could be relatively close. If such an announcement is indeed on the horizon, we could potentially hear something about it at Summer Game Fest next week.

Spotted by YouTuber Faz on Twitter, Atlus has registered the p4re.jp domain, which many presume is a Persona 4 remake domain- and it’s not hard to see why. As the YouTuber points out, the domain for Persona 3 Reload – p3re.jp – was registered a couple of months prior to the game’s official announcement. It should be interesting to see what that domain means for the hypothetical remake’s subtitle. Persona 4 Retuned? Persona 4 Rerun? Persona 4 Rewind? 

Of course, it remains to be seen whether that means we’re going to get a Persona 4 remake announcement in the near future, but evidence does seem to point to the game being real, at least.

The developer has announced that as of today, March 5, the Persona series has sold a total of 22.6 million units worldwide across all platforms, including all mainline games and their many spinoffs and re-releases.

Of course, that number did receive a recent boost with Persona 3 Reload, which launch last month and sold 1 million units in its first week, becoming Atlus’ biggest launch to date. Atlus has also released a special trailer for the remake to celebrate the series’ latest sales milestone. Check it out below.

A significant portion of the series’ sales are also thanks to Persona 5 and its spinoffs, which have collectively sold over 10 million units to date.

Though Atlus has said that it doesn’t plan to release an expanded version of Persona 3 Reload similar to Persona 4 Golden or Persona 5 Royal, a recent datamining leak suggested that Persona 3 FES’ The Answer will nonetheless be added as DLC, which is something that a hidden easter egg in the remake seems to suggest as well. Meanwhile, leaks have claimed that Atlus is also working on a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.

As for what’s next for the series beyond that, if rumours are to be believed, Persona 6 is targeting a 2025 launch, and is going to be a semi-open world experience. Atlus’ parent company Sega has said it expects the game to sell 5 million units in its first year, so clearly, the company has high hopes for Persona.

Red Dead Redemption 2 – American Dreams Quest

While Red Dead Redemption 2 features a rapidly changing America where the law and civilization are making their way into society, acts of heinous criminal activity are still running rampant that still show the signs of the Wild West that this place once was. During their travels, players will come across some brutally murdered people with deformed corpses lying around. Upon closer inspection though, Arthur Morgan comes to the conclusion that all these are acts of a serial killer. If you use Arthur’s detective mode around here, the trails will lead you to pieces of a map. Once all map segments are collected, an American Dreams side quest is triggered which entails bringing the serial killer to justice.

Thomas Downes – Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar Games’ latest Red Dead Redemption 2 is a game about characters. In addition to the richly realized open-world brimming with personality, Arthur Morgan’s tale of redemption is also brimming with a complex and meaningful supporting cast of characters. Players meet Thomas Downes while completing extortion missions for Strauss, wherein a brawl against this person, who is on his deathbed gives Morgan tuberculosis. As our beloved cowboy realizes that he might not even live long enough to see Dutch’s grand plan come to fruition even if it was any good, to begin with, we start to see him change as he becomes a more empathetic and caring man than he was once before – a major courtesy of Thomas Downes.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Super Smash Bros. Melee served as the series’ watershed moment, providing a near-perfect combination of gameplay, graphics and music. Super Smash Bros. Brawl didn’t win over everyone with some of its changes (hello, tripping) but it was superior in a number of other aspects. Subspace Emissary is an incredible story-driven mode till this day; the base roster was large and grew even further with the addition of non-Nintendo characters like Solid Snake, Sonic the Hedgehog and Cloud Strife; and the Stage Builder was introduced for creating one’s own levels. The Nintendo Wii already had a number of great exclusives but Super Smash Bros. Brawl is definitely one of its finest.

Judgment – Golden Sun

Djinns in Golden Sun were fairly straightforward but combining them wielded some devastating results. The true power move was utilizing four of the same element to bring in the heaviest of hitters. While the main difference is the amount of damage dealt by a specific element, Judgment is still perhaps the most iconic. There’s nothing quite like a winged knight with a lion shield decimating everything on the surface in spectacular yet quick fashion.
