Persona 3 Reload’s Merciless Difficulty Ending Seemingly Hints at The Answer DLC

The presence of these references to Persona 3 FES content might indicate Atlus' plans to release DLC for Persona 3 Reload.

Indications that Persona 3 Reload might be getting content related to the original Persona 3‘s story episode The Answer—available exclusively in Persona 3 FES—have come to light once more. As spotted by PCGamer, a YouTuber, Faz, managed to use cheat engine to get to the ending of Persona 3 Reload on Merciless difficulty, where an item is given to the player with a message by the protagonist.

“At the end of the great trial, the answer illuminates my path,” reads the message. The answer mentioned in the message is likely a reference to The Answer expansion for the original Persona 3 FES, which focuses on Aigis and the events following the weeks after Persona 3‘s ending.

Atlus itself is yet to confirm any DLC release for Persona 3 Reload so far, and has even gone as far as to say that, unlike Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal, Persona 3 Reload won’t be getting an updated re-release with new content any time soon.

A datamine from earlier this month provided more references to The Answer in Persona 3 Reload’s files, in the form of references to “Episode Aigis” and “Episode Aigis BGM Set”, which would indicate that at least some of the content from Persona 3 FES might have been planned for Persona 3 Reload at some point.

The leaks from the datamine indicate that Persona 3 Reload might get a full expansion pass with six pieces of DLC, including The Answer, as well as new items and costumes.

Persona 3 Reload is out on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. While there is no Nintendo Switch release, rumours indicate that it might be in the works for Nintendo’s next-gen console.
