The Last Man Standing Mode has been briefly detailed in a previous trailer, and this new trailer showcases gameplay footage of live matches played by the game’s development team. The mode will see players banding together and taking on increasingly powerful waves of enemies. Features and mechanics such as respawns, item drops, and of course, plenty of combat are shown in the gameplay footage. Check it out below.

The Valiant launches for PC later this month, on October 19. The game is also in development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One, but the console versions don’t yet have a release date.

From the Alps to the Southern-German grasslands and fortifications in Italy, The Valiant has a range of environments to explore. The story sees former knight Theoderich von Akenburg thrust back into action to seek pieces of the Rod of Aaron, a powerful artifact. His former brother-in-arms Ulrich is also looking for the same, which could spell doom, so it’s up to Theoderich to find them first.

The Valiant is a squad-based RTS with various heroic companions joining your group, each with unique skills. There are 15 single-player missions, numerous weapons and armor, and difficulty levels. Multiplayer fans can also partake in three-player, wave-based co-op with “Last Man Standing” or fight in 1v1 and 2v2 player-vs-player modes.

The Valiant is also in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PS5, but a release date has yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more details on the same in the coming months.

The publisher is bringing a number of notable games to its booth, while it will also be streaming new gameplay, developer interviews, and more. A number of these games were, of course, recently shown off at the THQ Nordic Showcase.

For starters, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, which is launching later this month, is going to be playable. THQ Nordic is also bringing survival horror reboot Alone in the Dark, as well as the likes of SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, Outcast 2 – A New Beginning, and AEW: Fight Forever. 

Other games included in the publisher’s lineup for Gamescom 2022 are Tempest Rising, Wreckreation, The Valiant, and SpellForce: Conquest of Eo.

Recently, Microsoft also shared details on what you can expect from the Xbox booth at Gamescom, including titles such as Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and more. Read more on that through here.

Of course, before Gamescom proper kicks off, we’ll also get Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 23. The 2-hour long live show will be hosted by Geoff Keighley and will feature over 30 games on-stage, including the likes of Hogwarts Legacy, The Callisto Protocol, High on Life, Sonic Frontiers, and more.

In addition to a story-driven single player campaign, The Valiant will also feature a co-op mode that’ll allow players to band together and take on increasingly powerful waves of enemies. An online multiplayer mode will also allow players to take each other on in competitive games. Both modes, as well as the campaign, are shown off in the trailer, offer a healthy look at the game. There’s Grimhild Eidottr, the captain of the Raven Company, who uses two-handed spears or a spear and shield. She can throw javelins or utilize Hedge Formation, with the latter pairing well with the Raven’s Nest skill to aggro enemies and force them to attack her squad. You can also use Ulfheddin Charge, an Offensive Tree skill for charging straight into foes and dealing immense damage.

There’s also Konrad, an archer wielding a bow or crossbow who can either set traps or unleash volleys of arrows. He also has “Blunt Projectiles”, a Defensive tree skill that exposes enemies, increases the damage and limits Fortitude regeneration. Other companions like Reinhard von Kempte and Gascoigne du Corban are also featured so check out the trailer for more details.

The Valiant is in development for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. No release date has been provided, but it’s reportedly “coming soon.”

The Valiant will feature various playable units for players to control, including swordsmen and cavalry, in addition to five Hero Squads, each with its own unique skill tree. The game also promises “a large array of weapons and armors to loot and equip”, each with its own skills and stats. As per THQ Nordic, combinations of hero skills, weapons, and equipment will allow for plenty of hero build variety.

The Valiant will offer a single player campaign with 15 missions, with cinematics, journals, and difficulty levels featured in each. In addition to that, the game will have a three-player co-op mode called Last Man Standing, which will see players facing enemy hordes and earning experience to level up characters and unlock new skills and cosmetics. Finally, the game will also boast competitive PvP offerings across 1v1 and 2v2 modes, while multiplayer progression will entail cosmetic meta-progression and special rewards for ranked play.
