SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Shows Several New Locations, Plenty of Platforming, and More in Gameplay Trailer

Purple Lamp Studios' upcoming platformer debuted a lengthy new gameplay trailer at the recent THQ Nordic Showcase.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom might not be the best or most prominent platformer available out there, but those who played it certainly enjoyed their time with the game, and soon, we’ll be getting a follow-up. Last year, THQ Nordic and developer Purple Lamp Studios unveiled SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shakeand at the recent THQ Nordic Showcase, we got another good look at the game.

The new gameplay trailer roughly three minutes of new gameplay footage, and there’s quite a bit to see. A number of different locations are shown, with SpongeBob and Patrick getting past various obstacles, enemies, and platforming challenges. We start with the duo trying to cut off the candy supply for a crazed Gary, who has a bit of a sugar rush, and see other stages, including one where SpongeBob and Patrick are cavemen, one where they’re in a Wild West-style town, and more. Check out the trailer below.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The game doesn’t yet have a release date.
